Whilst the lyrics were aimed at children, the musical content and style of the record (titled "Läget?") is very mature. The great news is that the project has just been nominated for a SWEDISH GRAMMY for "Best Children's Album", and YOU can make a difference by casting your vote!

December 3^rd 2007: EUROPE "Almost Unplugged" live show and webcast!

On January 26th 2008, Europe will hold a unique concert at the famous Venue "Nalen" in Stockholm! They will be performing semi-acoustic songs from their Secret Society album, together with some of their classic hits. The concert will be broadcast live over the internet on europetheband.com! We have now recovered from the Dalhalla weekend and the heavy partying the last night/morning... and we have some news for you guys.
We have listened through the show and decided to release 12 songs from the second night at Dalhalla as mp3's on our website.

September 1^st 2007: LATEST NEWS ABOUT THE MELDRUM

Hell Yeah!!!!
Meldrum album "Blowin up The Machine" is finally released in Europe, and so we´ve waited. A baby brother to the big sister Loaded Mental Cannon.....YEAH!!!!! So far the critics love us, the reviews have been great so far..... The album is fucking brutal and kick the shit out of any album so far this year....I mean come on, we have Gene Hoglan on drums and Lemmy on some back ups, are you kidding me???? Not that we think we need some monstruous musicians to come in and take over, we do that pretty good ourselves, but we got a little help from our friends, nothing wrong with that!!! And we are so thankful...
Its just time for the big American boys overseas to hear the goddman album....and the 11^th of September is the date. Ok, we know, we know, we did not pick that date, ironically with the album title and all, but there is no political references or preferences behind it.
To celebrate the new album we are launching a new website on the 27^th of August.

On Saturday August 25th, Europe welcome Swedish fans to join them live as they perform 2 live songs from Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm. The event will be broadcast direct on TV4s "Sommarkrysset" show from 8pm.
Tickets to Gröna Lund before 6pm are:
30SEK for under 13yrs and over 65yrs, and 60SEK for 13-64yr olds.
Park admission prices double after 6pm, so be early and secure yourself a place near the stage!

August 7^th 2007: SPECIAL ANNOUNCE ABOUT THE LAST 2 SHOWS OF THE SECRET SOCIETY TOUR AT THE DALHALLA (RÄTTVIK, SWEDEN)

We are going to upload pictures from the Friday show (31 August) directly to you people as the show goes along, so that everyone from all over the world can follow the show in pictures online here on the forum in this specific thread: CLICK HERE
There will also be pictures from before and after the show. We will start uploading pictures somewhere around lunchtime Friday. You will get a full cover of what’s happening at this magic place Dalhalla when Europe on “Secret Society Tour” are blowin' that solid rock walls away. There are some secrets that we will keep from you all until that Friday, so get your popcorn, something to drink and dress up or whatever you want and stay tuned here at the forum on Friday 31 August! The pictures taken during the last songs, after the boys have re-entered will be uploaded directly after the show.

There’s tons of exciting stuff goin’ on in the MELDRUM camp.

A low res. version is now available on you tube, and a high res. version to be posted on our new website which should be done in the next few weeks.

The new MELDRUM cd “Blownin’ Up The Machine” is invading Europe this week with great reviews, the girls are doing tons of interviews for the release. The exact date for the US release soon to be announced. It will be released in the US (release date to be posted soon) on Locomotive Records with Ryko/Warner Distribution.
Also the girls have been writing and recording a bunch of new songs for the cd with Gene Hoglan slamming on the drums. They will begin tracking drums this summer so the cd can be out no later than fall 2008 !!! Leaving time for touring and all that in between of course !!!
On a sad note…Michelle’s long time friend John Aldrete (aka Juan Alderete) bassist for Racer X and The Mars Volta was recently diagnosed with a rare blood disease. We encourage anyone to donate to the research of this rare disease. You can read more about his condition here…
